Renewal

A.        RENEWAL OF REGISTRATION
  • ​In accordance with Section 25(1) of Technologists and Technicians Act 2015 (Act 768), the Board has hereby determined the certificate of registration   issued to a Professional Technologist or Certified Technician may be renewed upon its expiry.
  • ​The application for renewal shall be made to the Board by the prescribed fee based on Technologists and Technicians (Fees) Regulation 2017 as below:

  • All professional registrants are given a period of twelve (12) months after the date of expiry of certificate registration. The registrants need to complete the CPD requirement to be eligible for yearly renewal.
     

    Professional Technologists (Ts.) and Certified Technicians (Tc.) must record the CPD hours and renew the registration through MBOT CPD System below :

B.        REMOVAL FROM REGISTER
  • The Board shall order the removal from the Register to any Professional Technologist or Certified Technician who failed to renew the registration after twelve months (12) from the date of expiry of the certificate of registration.
  • A Professional Technologist or Certified Technician are prohibited to use the abbreviated title "Ts." or "Tc." in any business that represents or implies that he/she is a Professional Technologist or Certified Technician.
  • A registered person whose name is removed from the Register will receive notice of removal within seven (7) days of placing the order and the registered persons is allowed to reapply for registration under section 21 or 22, as the case may be.
C.        APPLICATION FOR RE-REGISTRATION
  • Applications from Professional Technologists (Ts.) or Certified Technicians (Tc.) who have been removed from the Register and wish to be re-registered must submit their application to the Board, accompanied by the Professional Registration Fee as stipulated in the Technologists and Technicians (Fees) Regulations 2017.

     The applicant fills in the re-registration form along with an updated CV   prepared according to the prescribed format.

    2.
     Verification by MBOT Professional   Member
     The submitted documents must be reviewed and verified by an active   professional member to ensure the accuracy of the information provided.
    3.
     Payment of Assessment Fee
     The applicant must pay the prescribed fee via the JomPAY method.
      Assessment Fees :
      Professional Technologists (Ts.) : RM 600
      Certified Technicians (Tc.) : RM 300

    4.
     Submit Application 
     The applicant submits the complete application along with supporting   documents via Google Form.

    5.
     Review by Professional   Assessor Panel
     The Professional Assessor Panel will reviews the applicant’s documents and   qualifications to ensure all requirements are met.
    6.
     Committee & Board Decision
     The Committee and Board decide whether the application is approved or   rejected based on the evaluation. If endorsed, the applicant must complete   the Professional Registration Fee payment.

      Professional Technologists (Ts.) : RM 350
      Certified Technicians (Tc.) :  RM 200
    7.
     Appeal (If Rejected)
     If the application is rejected, the applicant may submit an appeal with   additional justification for reconsideration within 3 months.
