MINI SYMPOSIUM AND VISITECH TO MAMEE DOUBLE DECKER SDN. BHD.

20th November 2024 - The Mini Symposium and Technical Visit were organised to provide participants with valuable insights into the latest trends in food technology. The event also included a tour of Mamee Double Decker Sdn. Bhd., offering attendees a firsthand look at the company's production processes and technological innovations.

The opening presentation was delivered by Ts. Noraini Ab Wahab, Deputy Director of the Food Safety and Quality Programme, Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH). She discussed the legal requirements and regulations that food manufacturers in Malaysia must adhere to in order to ensure food safety and consumer protection.

Following this, Ts. Dr. Aida Hamimi from Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) shared the latest advancements in food technology, highlighting new developments in the field.

Prof. Ts. Dr. Hasmadi Mamat from the Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition, Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) then presented on recent innovations in food science, including new research on food nutrition and processing technologies.

A forum with members of the MBOT Technical and Technology Working Group (TTWG) on Food Technology followed, providing an opportunity for participants to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the food technology industry in Malaysia.

Subsequently, participants were given a chance to tour the company's production facilities and observed how food products are manufactured and how food technology is integrated into the production process.
